How does The Drawer magnets work?

The Drawer magnets can attract and separate ferromagnetic impurities from the materials by using magnetic force, and keep the magnets efficient through different cleaning mechanisms. This helps improve the purity of products and protect downstream equipment in industrial production. To enhance and guarantee the performance and lifespan of the drawer magnets, we need to regularly check and verify their performance. Just follow these steps:

Self-Clean Drawer Magnet

1、Cleaning Frequency: It is recommended that the cleaning frequency be arranged properly to keep the accumulation of fine powder on the magnets to no more than 1mm and the coverage of magnetic surface to no more than 50%. The recommended cleaning interval is at least twice per 8-hour shift.

2、Cleaning operation: When cleaning, make sure that the product flow has been turned off and that the magnet assembly is empty. For the SimpleClean™ (manual cleaning) and EZ Clean programs, it is necessary to release the clamp on the side of the case, open the door and pull out the drawer assembly one by one, using a cloth or glove hand to wipe the collected stray metals until they reach the rear end of the tube, the non-magnetic area allows most of the collected material to easily come off or be wiped off.

3、Check the seals: Check the wiper seals every three to six months to verify the integrity of the seal. If a worn or damaged wiper seal needs to be replaced, follow the procedure provided, which includes disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly.

4、Check magnet strength: Use a Gauss meter to periodically measure the magnet strength to ensure it remains within the effective range. Typically, the final magnet strength should measure 10,000 Gauss to effectively capture even fine metal particles.

5、Check electrical and pneumatic components: For self-cleaning models, check that the electrical connections and pneumatic components are functioning properly, including the resistance of the solenoid coil, which should be approximately 7.9 kilo-ohms (cold, DC resistance).

6、Inspection and Maintenance: Inspect the various parts of the magnet, including tubes, bolts, seals, and other components to ensure they are not damaged or worn, and replace them if necessary.

7、Record Maintenance: Results of maintenance and testing should be recorded to demonstrate the performance and effectiveness of the magnets, which is critical to meeting food safety and quality standards.
